was the draft order just random? worst returning team last year should've got the #1 pick.

I always seem to get the shaft in the draft order, but that's okay. I will use my superior skill to pick a strong team.

I got the #2 pick, but I'm fine with picking from any position in the draft. Maybe the draft order should be in reverse order of last year's standings, or something of that nature? Regardless, I'll make my pick quickly whenever my turn comes up.

Do we have the same 10 people from last year? If so I don't have a problem with reverse standings draft order.

I had Mona shuffle 10 cards and assign a number to each team. Then shuffled them again to select draft order.

Does it matter who the player performed against his league, or does the sim just take his stats as is, without relation to league performance?

Q, your team is out of contention already and we haven't even gotten to the third round yet.

my team was fun last year. i chose the la collisseum with a left field porch of about 250ft and loaded my lineup with power right handed hitters...mays, gehrig, piazza, manny and they did quite well. i felt i had a slight advantage starting out in half the games because we were at home.

Quan was the only team that beat me in the regular season series and he had the 2nd best record overall. Unfortunately he was in the same division with me and finished second.

I haven't set up the 2 divisions if someone wants to do that and post it.

What's the deal with Dihigo, you're not going to say he has a 0.15 ERA because he pitched in the Mexican League, are you? The Mexican League was like amateur level.

Dihigo is probably the greatest Negro League player ever. Think Babe Ruth without the power but still kept pitching. Then there is the fact that he was really good at every position except catcher, so if I have injuries he can fill in as needed. There were better hitters and better pitchers but no one that put those together like he did.

Nice try. You are not using a 0.15 ERA from when Dihigo pitched in the Mexican League at age 38 if you want me to participate in the league. It is B.S. Next someone is going to try to draft Todd Van Poppel and use his high school statistics and say he was the greatest pitcher ever.

If you want to redraft the pick, that is fine, but there is limits. That's why I didn't want to play in the league, there is an unreliable administrator, imo. Same for the simming. How do we know that you are not simming the league 100x and just posting the results that best suit you?

Also, the drafting. This is second time I have participated in these leagues and wound up drafting second to last in the order. Each time you say that you have your wife picking cards out of a hat or whatever. But it is strange.

Finally, the smelly thing about these Diamond Mind Leagues is that they seem to interpret the stats into ratings like "Average/Good/Great". How do we know that you don't have access to those ratings and are using them as inside information to make draft choices and that's why you are winning? Meanwhile, the rest of us are all left in the dark...

If you read how the sim operates then you would know that it takes a players best 10 year stretch to come up with their numbers. Also, if you bothered to look at my roster, you would notice that I have Dihigo at 2B. I've had him on my team the previous 3 years and never used him as a pitcher unless the sim put him as a reliever. NeLers are hit and miss as far as how they will produce. Lee went for all NeL team one year and didn't fair too well.

Yes, I do have access to all the data the game provides but the one thing I've learned is that it doesn't do much good to know it. The only thing I could run a 100 times would be the first segment of the season. After that, there is no way to save and go back to redo it if I don't like the results. Besides, I find honor is cheating to win. If I was going to run the sim 100 times, I may as well just do it by myself.

No one else has a problem with how I run the league. Most of whom have played every year. If you have a problem with me and the way the league is run, then quit. We'll find someone else or let the computer pick.

I'm out, gonna focus my energies elsewhere. Thanks for the memories.

Sorry to lose you Jamie. Played the last two years on FC, and it's a good time. It is only for bragging rights... we're not racing for pink slips. To sabotage a free league without financial loss/gain seems far-fetched, but I know people who can smell "conspiracy" at a child's lemonade stand. It's for fun
