In Keeping with Cabinets......
(Hope my first scanns on vbbc works) Hope you like these 2 Pat Moran cabinets I picked up pre-national. I love 'em. The Horner is Moran's photo on his Ramley and the other studio card is from the town where Moran was from in Mass. And it has a beautiful autograph on the back.
Amazing stuff in this thread! The Red Sox photo with Ruth? The boldness of that Ewing n173? Beautiful stuff! thanks

Great photos! Were they from the Moran family?

I believe it was from the family. they came from a house in the area he was born near. Pat Moran - my new favorite player.

Re: August 2010 pick up thread
After going 0 for July August has been very busy with great success:
An unconfirmed Cycle 460 that is now in my possession:
EPDG Karger:
Tinker Cycle 460:
Picked up some 56's I needed in a trade at the Nationals:
Pick ups from the Nationals:
Leifeld Cycle 460:
T202 Speaker/Wood, I will get a better scan when it arrives back from SGC:
An upgrade:
and I forgot to scan the 2 T202 black factory 30s.
This almost tops my buying of the Ewing & Mascot,
Lee

ok, the main part of my end on a trade i did with ben...going straight to a friendly neighborhood TPG near you.
we still have some player to be named later, some cash involved tied into the performance of these cards at said TPG. i feel like theo epstein or billy beane

Glad to see they finally arrived Quan! Hoping for the best from SGC. Also, great CJ Baker! I know you like downgrading to add breadth to your collection, but I'd hang on to that baby if I were you. It just looks so sweet.

Re: August 2010 pick up thread
I think my jaw is permanently damaged after hitting the floor so hard. Amazing pickups Brian, no freakin idea how you managed to find a Wagner! That's what I call a cornerstone card right there, wow.
So how many E107 HOFers does that bring you to now?

After adding those 2, it brings me up to 14 of the 23 HOFers. I have them scanned here...

The Wagner has about every technical flaw that you can have in a card, but that's just fine by me. The cool thing about it is that the more I look at it, the more I like it and honestly, its flaws don't bother me anymore. So, though it obviously is not in dream condition, it's my dream card and I'm thrilled to have it.

Okay, I think we can all go home now. Nothing more to see here...
NICE pick-up on the Wagner, Brian!
Is that a pin/nail hole above Wagner's head? Looks like it might be, or maybe a bug-hole? In any case I've always loved the cards I've had with obvious nail holes and the idea of some kid in 19-0-whatever, in pittsburgh or chicago or new york, nailing his favorite players to the wall.

Amazing pickups by all this month! Wow. I agree with Ray on the nail/pinholes. They usually dont bother me, since it shows that the original owner appreciated the card as much as we do now. Kinda like the mole on Cindy Crawford. Not the most attractive thing about it/her, but doesnt detract away from the overall beauty.
