Re: October Pickups
I'm pleased to have acquired this card after searching for 2 years. I was looking for the right combination of condition and eye appeal.
Being advanced collectors, I'm sure all of you know the difficulty of this card is overrated. There are currently 6 on eBay right now. What I did find difficult was an example with good registration. I've found the blue color pass is frequently off and it is most noticeable on the base paths and on his cap.
What I like most about this card is the forlorn look on his face.

Congrats! Good pick-up! I like the T205 Joss. Tough card, even if there are some on ebay, those are just overpriced BIN's. Unfortunately, your scan of the card took the pill that makes you smaller.
Would love to see it enlarged so that I can admire the beautiful registration!

D'oh! I seem to have a continuing problem with posting pictures from photobucket. The initial picture was ginormous which I subsequently reduced twice. Each time I refreshed full count, however, it still appeared the original size on my screen. I uploaded the photo again at the original size. Hopefully it may be seen correctly.

Blair, do you go after the different backs for your Red Sox? If so, the t207 Engle is one of the few Recruits that also has an anonymous back. I used to own one.

Hi Jay,
I have not been doing multiple backs on my Red Sox T-sets...trying to set some limits on myself .
That Engle card has been noted to be one of the toughest T207 cards in the "Recruit" series (sadly a couple other Red Sox fit that category too). I was surprised to see the prices paid as shown on the sales history for Engle...but I guess there's a reason he was on my wantlist for many years.

Between the Engle, Speaker, Wood, Hooper, etc., the Red Sox must have the nicest looking team set in T207.

I think so!
It is a big team set too...don't have my list in front of me, but probably 18 players at least.
The Carrigan is a nice card too. And the Cicotte pose is pretty cool (but maybe not the most accurate representation of him).
