Grading question
I am no grading expert in today's standards but this sure looks like it is graded a bit heavy to me. Your thoughts?

Re: Grading question
lately PSA seems to have gotten tougher than in the past-meaning they don't give out 5s like candy to trick-or-treaters any more. I have not sent anything to PSA in at least 2 years. Also I still think it matters who sends it in.
and teh 5 on the gerhig does seem generous

Re: Grading question
That 5 looks extremely generous to me. When I look at that card, I see a VG (3) card or maybe a VG-EX (4) at best. The card does look well loved and has character, but personally, I don't see that card supporting a price tag of a card in EX (5) condition.

Re: Grading question
That card could grade vg if resubmitted. On a good day it might get a vg/ex.
But I'm not sure that the actiual card is of importance to all collectors.

Re: Grading question
I try an avoid PSA Graded cards if at all possible. I would buy a BVG graded card before a PSA one if I had the choice.

Re: Grading question
I can't tell if the holder for the Gehrig has been compromised, but I am assuming that it has not been. Judging by the label, the card was graded not long ago, although not in the past year. The newest incarnation of the PSA label started when PSA went to the half grades. The newest labels can be distinguished by the number grade and the grade description on separate lines.
