I was just thinking that. Well, about yours at least. The clarity is just sick. I've never really been into blank-backed T206s, but I'll have to start paying attention if they typically look like that. And congrats, Tim. It's one of my favorite cards in the set.

The T206 proofs are beautiful examples of the ALC artwork. The printing stones were clean, the registration was perfect, and the amount and application of inks used were precise and even across the image.
Notice on Ben's Mattern proof how the background green is not nearly as dark as the production examples, any guesses as to why?

I can live with a few imperfections on the back when the front looks like this. Another HOF portrait keeper.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Davidson when it arrived in the mail. The EBay scans for both cards were a bit blurry, so I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to end up with. The Davidson is also larger top to bottom then all of my other T-cards, which is interesting. The final price was just under $30 for the pair, so my tail was wagging

One more Delong down, 8 more to go. Gehringer is the biggest one I need.
Re: September 2010 pick-up thread.
I've always liked the Delongs. Congrats on getting closer to the set!

Hey, you got two Cobb's in one as that little piece of paper is the label from a 1921-30 MLB Die-Cuts card!

Glad to hear the Cobb arrived safely Pete. I would have charged more if I knew it was destined to become your newest favorite card.
Thanks Bicem. I was just happy that the N172 wasn't graded higher. I was worried that it would show up as a "highest grade example." In this case, the crease was very much welcomed.
