What's your best pickup on eBay ever?
mine was picking up a T215 Red Cross Ty Cobb Bat Off Shoulder for a Buy It Now of $1000. I sent it to SGC (cost about $150 including shipping and insurance), it came back a 20, and I sold it for $6500 about a week after it arrived. Then, the buyer consigned it to an auction house about a year later and it went for over $9k. That was great, as we both did well on the card!

Best eBay pickup
A couple years back I spotted a Hugh Smith HRK on eBay with a BIN of around $75. (Image is in my gallery.) The seller had 2 of them, and he listed the other as a standard eBay sale with a scan of the card I won. He had to end the other auction, and relist it with the correct scan of the other one.
I think that it's still the only BIN I have done with regards to pre-war.

The e90-3 Solly Hofman variation, which was a new find to the hobby. I got the card for $17 and it sold in an REA auction for $2750 plus vig

Tough to choose one. I had some nice deals in my first few years on ebay (2000-2003).
E90-2 Wagner, gd, $275. Donno how I pulled that off but I did. Not a BIN either.
T213-2 Matty, vg, $100 BIN
T213-1 Cobb, gd-vg, $300ish
W514 Joe Jackson, gd, $150 BIN
T206 Young (glove shows) Cycle 460 back, vg, $250ish
Uncatalogued Ty Cobb e95 lookalike, with his name in script writing at the top, $50 BIN (later traded to Scott). That was probably my best deal ever.
T205 blank back McConnell, ex, $60. Recently sold on ebay for around $750ish and some guys on net 54 were calling it a great deal.
N162 Anson, nice card but paper loss at the bottom, $500.
There are others that I'm forgetting at the moment.

Don't want to dis any sellers, and some of the deals were not that special at the time. (Less than 10 years ago F/G E107s were selling in the $100-200 range.) Some things that stand out (none where BINs):
Fleischmann's Bread with coupon - $75
'33 Buffalo Bisons Puzzle - $18
Middy Bread - $150
Allegheny - $200+
G+B Gum - around $650?

I picked up a handful of Carolina Brights one Easter day for $60 to $80 each and they all graded 60 and 70.
I picked up a Lenox for about $300 and it is in a 60 holder now. I can't remember the price but the Young Piedmont 42 I have was from ebay and the 42 was not in the description.
I picked up a Wagner (bat right) Pied. 42 for around $100 and it is in a 70 holder.

I picked up a T206 Rhoades from a fellow I had been buying T206s from on ebay, I received one card and noticed it was trimmed. I notifies him and he told me to keep the trimmed card and not pay for the Rhoades I had just won, nice gesture. Well, About my 5th submission and 2 years later I decided to throw that card in to get graded it came back a 84 NrMt. I later found out there was a very low pop total on the NrMts from PSA & SGC. I later sold the card for $2000. Not bad for having nothing into the card.
I also purchased a T202 for $100 that came back an 88, turned that around for $3000.

Best Pickup

In 1998, I asked my wife to bid $2000 on a lot of all 48 T206 Southern Leaguers, because I was going to be at a Little League meeting when the auction ended. She thought I was crazy bidding that much money. I wasn't really sure if my wife would place the bid. When I got home, she told me that the auction ended with me winning at $1825. I already had all the Southern Leaguers, but they were not in very good shape. Because I didn't not have that much cash available, I immediately put all 48 of my cards on ebay, in individual auctions. I sold all of my cards for $1300. After receiving the cards, I sent them to SGC to be graded, 5 or 10 at a time. They are all still in my collection. I received 1 SGC 88, 4 SGC 86, 1 SGC 84, 7 SGC 80, 16 SGC 70, 14 SGC 60, 3 SGC 50, 1 SGC 40, and 1 SGC 30. I think I did alright.

About 6 years ago, purchased an Sgc-88 T206 Johnny Evers with Chicago on shirt for about $350 bucks.
Man I wish I had that one back.

This totally tops all Bill, super cool!

I made 350% profit on a Wheaties Series 15 Medwick in two months, because I knew the issue was valuable, and the only thing the seller knew was that it was beat up. Obscure card, special awareness, happens (once, so far).
