Just picked up this Walter Johnson (pitching) T206 with the rare Piedmont Factory 42 back. 10th toughest back.
It goes great with my Johnson (pitching) LENOX:

Thank you very much Tony. I got out of T206's almost a year ago, only to find myself aquiring cards from that set again. Maybe one day, I will begin my quest of the monster.......again.

Forgot to post this one. I picked up a 1914 Federal League contract signed in 3 places by Charles Hanford of the Buffalo Buffeds. It is also signed by the Federal League President (James Gilmore). Very cool piece.

Dude. I totally know the feeling. I probably sold 200+ T206's early this year. While I don't necessarily miss them - with a few exceptions - I just can't get the Monster out of my system. I'm thinking of spinning off a separate limited T206 collection from my Finite Collection, but I know that will just lead me down the slippery slope of going for the whole thing again. Oh well, I've probably started and stopped four different '56 Topps sets over the course of my collecting life, so it's not like doing so would be anything new for me.
And, yeah, great card, by the way.

jeff some nice e93s...those always bring back some nice memories. if that spot on the front is the only thing keeping that bender at a 3, then it's freaking fantastic.

Nichols?
He has gotten a reprieve with all of the flak that the Rocket has been taking.
But his 361 lifetime wins are looking pretty shaky with Maddux backing up Clemens.
Heck, if Maddux equals his last years performance, he passes Spahn (as well as Nichols) and ties Galvin this year.
Great pick up invu.

Re: July pickups #2
I have a feeling this card is from after 1910, given the year written on front and back and Pittsburg didn't become Pittsburgh until 1911. Still a cool image of Wagner.

Re: July pickups #2
I'm pretty sure the PC is from 1910. The use of "Pittsburg" was very unpopular in the city, and a lot of businesses refused to use it. It would make sense that the newspaper would be one of those that would lobby to return the use of the "h" and refuse to use the official spelling. Also, on the back of the PC note that it is spelled without the "h"....I doubt that this would have occurred after 1911.

Re: July pickups #2
Pittsburgh was "Pittsburgh" long before 1910. Around 1890 the United States government decided to standardize the mapping and the naming of cities within the US. At the time, there were cities with as many as 3-4 different names and spellings were all over the place. So in a move to standardize the cities, the government decided that ALL cities that included "-Burgh" or "-Burg" would be standardized to be "BURG" (without the H) from that point on for all time and eternity.
This caught on in most areas but Pittsburghers are an unruly group and resented the change that was forced on them, and actually officially re-changed the name from "Pittsburg" to "Pittsburgh" around 1910. The "with H" was being used almost as much as without even during the 1890-1910 period.
