Love that Donlin card! Nice clarity and great green background, with the kind of rivers that perfectly add to vintage value without hurting visual appeal.
I confess my ignorance about this set: You mention four Donlin cards, but I've looked at all three phases of the checklist and only see three (119, 120, 274). What's the 4th?
Also curious: What draws you to Donlin? Is it his not-so-borderline Hall of Fame career? His lifetime .333 seems like it should qualify, especially over 16 seasons. I love championing guys like this. Well done!

Re: December Pick-Ups
honestly what drew me to the donlin t213 is the type 2 variant that lists his 300 batting avg for 7 seasons. As this is the only coupon card with a boast such as this! Â I acquired this one first...then realized this is likely the more common type 2 variant so then I acquired the other type 2 with team designation." />
I then decided to go for the type 3 to complete the run. Â And recently had the opportunity to purchase the type 3 w/overprint...which I did not know existed.

nice lucas...i love the diamond stars set...if it only had gehrig and ruth in it...it'd get so much more respect. Just imagine if ruth/gehrig were high numbers!

Yeah, I agree. It does have a great Hornsby card and a nice Greenberg, but the Big Two are glaringly missing. That's a big part of why I took up the 1934 World Wide Gum set, because it does have Ruth and Gehrig and I really wanted to have cards for each of them from during their playing careers. Ruth as a high number in this set...I don't even wanna think about it!

My first ones. Not sure if I'll go for the set. They are pretty cool. I've been kind of branching out into vintage non-sports as they are more affordable than baseball.

Indian Gum is a beast, especially if you go for a master set. Skybirds is a really cool set and about the size of the Sports King set. The G-Men set is pretty cool and kinda tells a story.
