Sterling Wins
Just wondering if anyone else won anything in the Sterling Auction last night. For the cards I was watching and sold the non-Pied & SC backs for T206s are really strong. The T206 HOFers held there own.
I had consigned a fair amount of lots, the OJ's took a beating, faded images I think were a huge factor, I was hoping being the only OJ's in the auction that it would drum up extra interest. Overall it was about 10% less than I hoped for but most was reflected in the OJ's. I did get a nice T202 Cobb for a nice price.
Brian did a great job and kudos for a well organized auctions, easy to find cards after page one.
Here is what I won, 56 Topps Feller PSA 6, T206 Maddox EPDG PSA 2, and these 2:

Re: Sterling Wins
Under $100 and I love the Red backs, maybe some day I will get all the baseball cards with Cycle backs.
I think the price got hurt because of the qualifier on the "1" grade
does it really make a difference in lower grade? I guess it makes it a "-1"

Great idea...go for every cycle card ever printed...nice niche...and start sporting a handlebar moustache...this is critical to the success of your new persona!

Re: Sterling Wins
I scored 15 lots totalling 17 items. Many of these were additions to my Red Sox collection (including a pair of T204s, a pair of T207s one of which was the Cycle Bushelman, a T3, a pair of Collins McCarthys, an Oxford Confectionary, and a '59 F Ted Williams in SGC 96).
Also grabbed the E90-1 Fred Clarke.
One of the interesting scores was 4 of the Autographed Gateway First Day covers. I don't normally collect these, but there was no action on them and the prices were LOW! I got a nice 1982 Wayne Gretzky auto for under $60 all in, a real strong Stan Musial for under $20, a Walt Alston (d. 1984) for under $15, and an Al Kaline for under $13. From what I can tell these are all about 25%-50% of the going prices on these at auction.
Oh, and had a nice chat with Brian today - customer service supreme!!!
