Nothing to see here. Legendary is not having an auction tonight. Just a silly rumor.

I'm not quite sure what your message means, is it sarcasm? Where did ten bucks come from?
I was the high bidder in goodwin on the PSA 7 Dorgan N175 and the PSA 2 Gunning N175 a couple weeks ago, they went for a little bit more than $10, closer to $9K

Reminds me of a certain "Dicken's Cider" commercial.

I mean that you're constantly trying to rip people off and get the better of the deal. Not something that engenders a lot of respect.

Jaime, I don't think that's a fair accusation. Eric might seek profit in his transactions (can't blame him for that can you?) but he's always up front as far as I know, and I don't recall him ever being accused of "ripping people off".
Re: N175 Small Dick Johnston anyone?
I have noticed, through my personal dealings with Eric, as well as his postings, that he in fact does try to get the better of the deal and does not make fair offers. I don't know if "rip-off" is the right term, but he tries to take advantage of people. That is something I can stand by.

Jamie,
Your comments really are uncalled for. I don't try to take advantage of anyone. You said I always try to get the better of the deal... I've yet to meet someone that wants to be on the other side. People buy/sell/trade everyday in an attempt to make a profit.
I've paid top dollar for a number of cards from members here and on Net54, most recently purchasing a N175 PSA Krieg yesterday - paying top dollar and not even negotiating on the sellers price.
I've completed hundreds of transactions on the BST at Net54 where all the buyers were happy. I actually just worked out a trade of my PSA 5 OJ Delahanty with a Full Count member yesterday as well - and we are both happy with how it turned out.
If you make similar comments to others on this board, its no wonder why there is a much smaller population here than other vintage forums.

I can vouch that Eric paid a ridiculous amount of $$$$$ to me for a t216 common...which is now on ebay for an even more ridiculous amount of $$$$.

I have never had a dealing with Eric, but all I see is that he tries to profit from his acquisitions. Yes it may get annoying but we can all chose to ignore and I know he has paid good money for cards in the past.
I think he does need to keep his transactions or possible ones to the BSTs.
Everyone has the right to handle there collecting the way they like and there is no need for any personal attacks.
Have a great day all,
Lee

I never made a personal attack, I just expressed my view on how he does business. If he has a right to post his cards then I have a right to form an opinion on that.
Good luck to you, Eric, I also think your posts are uncalled for. Try actually participating in the board instead of just trying to make a score. Then you'll earn my respect.

I have dealt with Eric and not had the same experience. Also, I have never met anyone who doesn't try to get the better end of a deal to some degree.
If someone pays my price in something, whether it is cash or cards in trade, and then tries to sell it for more than I was asking for it - its no skin off my nose. I have seen FAR worse things in this hobby, to be sure.
Re: N175 Small Dick Johnston anyone?
Okay, I don't want to go any farther with this, and if other people have had different experiences with him then that is great. I was just going off my own experiences.
Let's put this to rest, and good luck acquiring Small Dick.

Re: N175 Small Dick Johnston anyone?
my experience is as similar to jamie. it's not about trying to get the better end of a deal, it's about being blatantly unfair and a total used card salesman. all the shillings also get tiring.
i see that eric was finally able to purchase the n172 delahanty and flipped it fast...the one that he should've bought from me a few years ago from the start for cheaper in a sgc40 holder that i told (advised/pleaded?) him would be a sure thing to cross to psa, but he didn't want to that i finally submitted myself and came back a 5.

Re: N175 Small Dick Johnston anyone?
I have had that one experience w/Eric. He was aggressively pursuing t216's a little ways back. He approached me having seen that I purchased a card prior from eric...Kotton king...and he wanted it for his new obsession. I didn't want to sell it...as it was supposed to reside in my type collection for eternity...but...as stated...he offered such a ridiculous amount of money I sold it to him. Shortly thereafter he decided T216's weren't to his liking anymore and began to sell them off. Now my former card will lanquish on ebay for eternity...or until he consigns it to some auction house and takes a loss on it.
Eric doesn't strike me as much of a collector...more of an investor....or more accurately...a day trader!

he strikes me as someone who knows squat about cards and only looks at the slab (and most of the time it's psa so even more laughable).

Re: N175 Small Dick Johnston anyone?
I guess I just don't get it. Is it because he isn't a "dealer"?
If you try to sell to some dealer set up at a show, they are going to offer you 60 cents on the dollar after looking in SMR (if you are lucky), tell you why your card sucks, then list it for double what they paid you - what is the difference, really?
I agree posting in non-BST threads is annoying, but if someone is stupid enough to pay double for a card that just sold in a major auction, that is on them, not the seller IMO.

Re: N175 Small Dick Johnston anyone?
I can see where Jamie is coming from, Eric is a bit crazy on the re-list. Which is fine no big deal just dont be touchy when people say double the price LOL.
What I will go on record as saying in this thread is that my Dick is way bigger than your Dick's shown.
