Does this card look small to y'all?
I was just perusing flea bay and I came across this Jennings Uzit:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-11-T206-Hughie-Jennings-One-Hand-HOFer-PSA-3-Uzit-/270821819613?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item3f0e3d04dd
It looks like an American Beauty to me...totally small from most dimensions? What do y'all think?

I'm not an expert on this but I vote untrimmed because the corner wear seems natural. I think PSA did okay with this one. It is an AB width. Not a card that appeals to me but should grab a hefty price. I would avoid but that is just my opinion.

Way small...especially side-to-side. I would not buy it.

I think sometimes the screwed up cards appear on ebay because no major auction house will take them? Maybe that's what's going on here. That's the risk with flea bay.

I agree, Blair...way small...could be untrimmed...but shocking to me...it received a 3(vg) grade?!?!

I agree the card should be graded a 2 so that is a warning sign right there... However the thing that makes it undefinitive is that Uzit's had such a small print run. A card like that would go for $10000plus at a major auction house so with the bidding only at $500 with one day left... Hmm. This may fall into the realm of "if it seems to good to be true, it probably is". Maybe Jay or some of the other vets on this forum could tell you more... I am still an apprentice I think :-)

By the way, what do you guys think of the n172 wright in b-lauctions? Do you think it's overgraded? I would have given it a 4 based on its corner wear.

I don't have a problem with the grade of the wright.

The wear looks legit, but that is a really narrow card. Maybe even narrower than an AB. McPherson was known for trimming cards to fit pages, but those were caramel cards he trimmed. I'm not aware of any t206s that he trimmed for collection. Could have been trimmed a long time ago. Maybe 50+ years.

Jay,
What do you think of the wright card? The corners are yuck to me, I say it's a four. Pete disagrees. You are the tiebreaking vote...

Grading is a crap shoot. With OJs the technical grade means very little since most serious collectors worry about the image.

Hi Full Count! When I saw this Uzit Jennings I thought it looked familiar and checking the auction archives I found it! It was from the REA Uzit find in 2006. There were 33 Uzit backs (including this Jennings) among 160 T206s in the collection.
Here’s the link (six cards in this lot including Jennings):

Because this card came from an original-owner collection I have 100% confidence it is naturally cut and just happens to be on the narrow side and I do remember it was slightly narrow.
Here are the links to the lots with the other T206 Uzits from the finds:

I hope this helps!

Well that settles that. Anyone else have an opinion on the grade of the Wright card? Should it be a four? I am not looking for opinions on whether collectors pay extra for high grade OJ's, just looking for a technical assessment, is the card overgraded? Thanks.

Hi Jim! I didn't even remember listing the Wiltse as possibly trimmed. I definitely do not think Wiltse is trimmed (for the very same reasons I know the Jennings is not trimmed). This is just how the card was cut. I don’t remember what our thinking was exactly when we wrote the description just because it’s been so long but my guess is it was as simple as it was a narrow card in an ungraded group, and we were trying to be conservative so if the winner got it graded and it came back Authentic they would not be disappointed. The Jennings was graded because it was a Hall of Famer. Today we’d get these all graded!
Sincerely,
Rob L
