Hey Jamie - though I don't collect 19th c., that card (and story) captured my attention. Great pick-up!

ChiefBenderForever wrote:Amazing pick ups !!!!!!!!! Congrats to everyone looks like y'all mopped up !! Pete and John could hold their own auction my goodness wow wow wow !! I won the T215 Red Cross Bender so have been very excited as I have been waiting months to try to get a chance to win it, now that it is over feels better than ever !
Nice work! When I saw that lot I had 2 thoughts: (1) if I was bidding on any Red Cross in the auction that would be the one, and (2) I hope Johnny gets it...card belongs in a great Bender collection!!!

Wonka, we won't stick ya with the drinks bill unless you really want to buy.
Great pick ups by all. I was really tempted to pull the trigger and go one more bid on the t207 RC Blackburn

Dental schools don't teach wrecklessness, fiscal irresponsibility...and stupidity...I did that all on my own!

I have it on good authority that Pete is now working on a Lowdermilk back collection since he has the tough one out of the way.
Re: What did you win in REA?
LOL....First thing i heard on news today was about highest paying job, Lawyers, doctors, and DENTIST....i thought, i hope so since Pete needs to do some extra braces/invisiline soon.

Thanks for compliments on the Kelly, everyone, although I'm just a small portion of the damage inflicted on this auction by this board. First place goes to Pete for his massive layout for the Lowdy, a rarity provincial to this board. Second goes to John for his incredible haul, and third goes to Jay for his first large auction pickup in over a decade. Everyone else gets honorable mention. Well done, guys!

Re: What did you win in REA?
When I joined this forum, I figured out pretty quickly that I'm a bit of a lightweight in this company. However, it was not until now that I realized just how light I am. If this is boxing, I'm a featherweight. These are some heavyweight acquisitions that went on this weekend, and my kudos to all. That Kelly is beautiful, the T206's are amazing, the Cracker Jack's are breathtaking, and Pete's haul... Lord. There are hardly words.
Well done, folks. Now I'm just gonna go back to swimming with the small fish.
