December 2010 pickups
I think it was nolemmings who at the National told me that if I had one M110 I could get away with being a type collector, but if I had more than one it made me a set collector. Well, I guess I'm doing the set now. Thanks to everyone here at Full Count who told me NOT to buy the Wagner on eBay for 6k, which left me with ample money to win this in the Goodwin auction last night/this morning. And special thanks to Jeff who helped me with the pricing data on past sales so that I could make an educated bid.

Thanks Quan. It all started with a Buck Weaver pick up. Then another. Then a Gandil pick up. And then another Weaver.
Before I even knew what hit me I was a full fledged Black Sox collector. Funny how one's collecting interest's can change
in the blink of an eye. I didn't even plan it.

Congrats, Chris! I'm glad to see that you landed it!
...and Tony??? A Plow Boy? Wow! When you divert your attention from awesome eye appeal on T206 portraits, you certainly know how to pick a sweet card from a sweet set! Congrats!

I keep going back and staring at that Plow Boy. The contrast and clarity in his face is amazing!

Thanks Jay - that is true...they are horribly cut cards that tend to be found in lower grades. Dickman in the only Red Sox player in the set, and I looked at quite a few awful examples before getting this one.

I love the woodsy background on the n172... it's as if after the photo shoot, the guy decided to turn around and go for a long hike! That's what I love about the n172's - we got nature, we got dogs, we got child mascots... what else could anyone want?
