Real Old Cards
Just like "vintage", this term means something different based on each person's perspective. For me, since many 19th century options are financially unlikely for me, I consider Mayos and OJs to be "real old cards" which I can relate to and for some: own.
Anybody think this term aptly describes cards from the 1950s?

Well...
Vintage is a general term and can have a meaning depending on what one is saying is Vintage. For Example, vintage clothing would be from the 60's-70's where as vintage radios are from the 30's-40's. Vintage books are from 1700-1800.
Real old cards are not from 1950's in my opinion, they are old cards but not REAL OLD. Cards from 1887-1895 are real old cards.

Re: Real Old Cards
Cards from the 50s are the cards from my youth. I can call them old cards because I perceive myself to be an old man. However, I have an uncle who is 18 years my senior. He still considers me young. I wonder what he would think of cards from the 50s (he was about thirty years old then). T206s were "real old" to him, I bet, because they were issued before he was born. Gee ... he would have been 10 or so right around the Goudeys coming out.
My next conversation with my uncle may be interesting.
