D322 Tip Top with stamp
Hey guys,
We've all seen stamps of all different shapes and forms on our cards before, but I thought this one was interesting since it was from the year that the card was issued and at the end of the baseball season. Probably just from whomever owned the card, but pretty cool that it was the first owner.
If you have a card with a stamp you'd like to show, please do!
Rob

I like how they rank the players - with the management first - very hierarchical! But Forbes Field is last - I mean, without the field, where would they play? Shouldn't that be first?

I have own some Tcards with a date stamp. What are the theories on the date stamp.
I see a couple of possibilities:
Some type of salesman sample.
Or a collector just dating the cards when received (not sure why you would do it unless you are a kid and just killing time with your cards differentiating from your friends cards).

The most common theory I've heard is that if the cards were used as a promotion that the date stamp was used to cancel the card so it could not be redeemed again. I've date stamps on just about every type of t and e-card.

Makes sense Jay. I've heard of that too, but with this series (according to the backs) the labels were sent in and not the cards. My favorite are the zeenuts that have been punched. Ouch! What's worse? Tearing the coupon off or punching a hole?
Just for the record, I don't think I have another date stamp on any of my cards that are from the same year as the card was issued.
Lee, are your T206 with stamps from 1909-11?

Also surprised we haven't seen one of these labels (that I know of).

Re: D322 Tip Top with stamp
I picked up a small group of t207s back around 2002. All of them had a date stamp for 1911.
Re: D322 Tip Top with stamp
If I remember correctly their were 1909 and 1910 stamps. I will check my scans of the sold cards and see if I have any record of the cards.
