OJ with Candy Store Stamp On Back
Hello All,
Have not posted in a long time. Is there any significance to an OJ that has the ad trimmed and a candy store stamp on the back. I can post a scan tonight.
Thank you
Joe

Hey Joe, good to see you around. There could be some significance to the stamp - not sure. A candy store ad stamp on the back of an Old Judge sounds unusual. Looking forward to seeing a scan when you have a chance to post it.

Re: OJ with Candy Store Stamp On Back
HI Guys,
Glad to be back!
Actually I have been riding a lot lately Jerry.
The card has the same back stamp as the card posted above. The player is the same also, but the tint on the front is not yellow. It does have the goodwin ad on the bottom, but has been trimmed all the way around.

Some blank backed Cracker Jack cards also appeared with this same stamp on the back, but oddly enough Joseph Royer was no longer in business when the Cracker Jack cards were made.

I think the tint is different. My scan is blurry but the tint looks like the typical n172 and not the yellow tint that Lee posted.

I was wrong, It is the same card. I guess I should have compared the markings.

The Royer stamp was found on a few cards. I've seen a few and the cards are relatively smaller than normal OJs. A couple of us figure that the cards are reproduction cards.
