Team Settings
In the interests of playing the Sim, and not screwing up my pitching so badly this season; I am thinking about using the following setup.
The Riddler's Medieval B.B.C.
************************
Strict Pitcher Usage Plan
Starter
Tom Glavine
Chief Bender
Whitey Ford
Curt Schilling
Spot Starter
Hoyt Wilhelm – 20%
Burleigh Grimes – 30%
Mop Up
Kent Tekulve
Long Relief
Kent Tekulve
Hoyt Wilhelm
Burleigh Grimes
Set Up
Dave Righetti
Hoyt Wilhelm
Closer
Dave Righetti <-------- please apply r/l matchup when favorable
Robb Nen <-------- please apply r/l matchup when favorable
Please tell the Sim.

Re: Team Settings
Everyone needs to decide if they want to go with the computer default for lineups or create their own.
You can set up batting orders Vs RHP and LHP. Can also decide what position each player will play and if you want to platoon anyone.
Pitching, you can set your rotation to any size. You can also decide if you want to follow a strict rotation or skip the last starter in the rotation if there is a day off to get to you #1 start sooner.

Re: Team Settings
Bill Dineen does not have a durabilty rating for long relief. He would be defaulted as poor if you use him. Otherwise, everything looks good from you guys.
And yes, the sim does allow you to select pitchers for all the options Gil listed and goes even a step further on the set up and closers allowing for R/L match ups.

Re: Team Settings
I just looked at his stats, he is only rated as a starter. He has no rating as any type of reliever.

Re: Team Settings
Does the Sim have the capability of complying with the following requests:
batting -
Main Batting order: (rest starters 10% of games except Gehrig, rotated so no more than 2 starters rest in any 1 game)
Main PR: Biggio
Main PH: Manny, then Gehringer
pitching -
one inning each: Franco, Smith, Eckersley-- each to have no more than 3 game appearances in a row

Please do what you can for me with these--I don't care about lefty-righty matchups.
Main Batting order: (rest starters 10% of games except Gehrig, rotated so no more than 2 starters rest in any 1 game)
Jeter
Collins
Musial
Gehrig
FRobby
Griffey
Mathews
Hartnett
Pitcher
Main sub: Molitor
Main PR: Biggio
Main PH: Manny, then Gehringer
5 man rotation---#5 getting spot starts only
Johnson
Grove
Brown
Perry
Palmer
Long relief: Roberts, Palmer (if no upcoming start in next 5 games)
Middle relief: Kaat, long if Palmer unavailable
one inning each: Franco, Smith, Eckersley-- each to have no more than 3 game appearances in a row
If Roberts and/or Palmer have not so good or worse reliever ratings (having rarely come in from the pen), then make Kaat long reliever and I guess use Roberts/Plamer for injured starters. Eck is closer and Franco set up--let Lee S get some mid-relief appearances.

Sorry for the delay in posting my settings, I've been very busy these past few weeks. I will take a look over my team and post the info tomorrow night (hopefully).
Re: Team Settings
Just ran a season without Ben's choices. here are how the divisions are set up:
AL
Oppie Dildocks
Boston Beaneaters
Boston Red Stockings
Joe Schlobotniks
NL
Riddler's Medevil BBC
Minnesota Dreamers
Nebraska Wahoos
Brooklyn Bridegrooms
One division was won by 17 games, the other 9 games. Most notable achievement...Dazzy Vance going 1-24...ouch
