T206 Cobb Brown Lenox
I thought I would start a thread on the topic of the T206 Cobb Brown Lenox recently found so we would not side track another thread any more.
It was brought up about the estimated value of the card. I say minimum $20,000 up to $50,000 if you get the right bidders going head to head. To me this is a one of a kind card and even if there are a few more they are obviously ultra rare.
Merry Christmas

Re: T206 Cobb Brown Lenox
It certainly could be the only Brown Lenox Cobb in existence. I imagine that it is. For that reason, the price potential is enormous. Personally I don't see it going too far beyond $20,000. But as Lee said, if two deep pocketed bidders wanted it badly enough, it could exceed that amount and then some.

I think all you have to do is look at recent sales of Cobb/Cobb cards and you will have your limit as to what someone will spend on this card. I can't see anyone spending more for this than a Cobb/Cobb even though a Cobb/Cobb is not really a t206

But there are at least 13 known copies of the Cobb/Cobb, which appears to be quite a few more than the Brown Lenox.

Re: T206 Cobb Brown Lenox
Even though there are more Cobb/Cobb's I'd still rather have one of those over the Brown Lenox. The Cobb/Cobb has mystery and mystique. The Brown Lenox is neat, but just not as neat as a Cobb back IMO.
Re: T206 Cobb Brown Lenox
As Dan said, no legend, no mystique, no lore behind the card. If pure
rarity were the first judge of value, then the t206 Wagner would not be
the most valuable card in the hobby.

There are a ton of Cobb cards that are tougher than the Cobb/Cobb that do not sell for nearly the same amount. Same with the Wagner.
I would guess the Brown Lenox would sell for 3-4x what a black Lenox would sell for, which is a fraction of the numbers that are being discussed here.

Re: T206 Cobb Brown Lenox
Would it not be reasonable to assume a Black Lenox Cobb could sell for 5k, meaning 15-20k for the Brown Lenox after the 3-4x multiplier?rman444 wrote:I would guess the Brown Lenox would sell for 3-4x what a black Lenox would sell for, which is a fraction of the numbers that are being discussed here.
