Has anyone seen something like this before? It looks like they are some kind of cutout, glued onto the notebook cover. Ted Z has a Foxx that looks identical. Does this piece reveal anything about the origins of these little "cards"? Interesting.

Thats a pretty good gluing job, I don't think mine would have looked that good.
Pretty cool item, with Paste and scissors on the cover.
What is the issue of the cards?, or are they cut from publication

Gee, that picture would disappoint Ted Z who thinks that he has a 1 of 1:

Or maybe he does.

However, based on the way that the Earnshaw is pulling away from the scrapbook cover, the origin is clear. It would take an ASA, NASA or other such paper cut out grader to slab them, then the procedure is to dupe the unsuspecting.

Did anyone else notice that on the list of AL champions, they include Chicago winning the title in 1900? Today, officially, the AL does count as a major league until 1901 but obviously, even as late as the 1930s, the general feeling was otherwise.

Look at the Terry card on the top row, where it starts to peel back. Looks paper thin to me, but hard to tell.

Ted's Foxx looks like it's on cardboard stock though.

Maybe the gluer skinned the cards so they would not stick out on the cover. question

Don't forget that the photo could have been pasted onto the cardboard.

If I had to guess I would say that Ted's "card" was made from these same pics. Maybe even by the same kid who made the notebook? The pics are most likely taken from a magazine in the 1930s. Maybe the kid had two notebooks and he cut out the pics on the other one? Either way I think this pretty much seals the deal that Ted's card is not really a card, but something some kid made 70+ years ago.

The owner of this item has confirmed that they are indeed paper thin, and are not "cards".

Ted's Foxx looks like it has a bit of thickness to it, but it's hard to tell from the scan. Most likely it's identical to these items, but we'd need to hear from Ted for confirmation on that.

I have always thought that Ted's "card" was just a homemade item...it is obviously hand cut as can be seen by the wavy left border and if you look closely at the top and especially the right top corner you can see that the cut is above the glued on paper cutout.
