1910 Notebook Proof
I won this tonight and the seller also had a Waddell (Jeff did you win it) and Cy Young all SGC A with Proof designation. Any idea why the "Proof " designation?

I have a feeling this "proof" is going to end up in a buyer's remorse thread down the road!

Even if it is not a "Proof" I think it is a great item. Quite ornamental and will display nice. I am just curious how they determined it was a "proof".

Re: 1910 Notebook Proof
There's a discussion on the other board re the Waddell that was sold last night.
Looks like the "proof" designation comes because this was cut from a sheet that was deemed to be a proof sheet. That sheet was sold in Mastro April 2002. There were 3 each of: Young, Matty, Waddell, Cobb, and Criger. The presence of Criger was cited as evidence that this was not some sort of "fantasy" piece.

Sadly it looks as though some one cut up an uncut sheet. Nice to know the background in for on it. It looks like there is only 3 of each.

Confirmed cut up in REA, I'd say it most definitely is the top corner cover.
