SGC new half grades?

I've always been a big SGC backer, mostly because of the recommendations of people here on this board.

I know many of you are in the SGC camp with me, but I for one don't like this.

What do you guys think?

For those who haven't heard, SGC now has...

SGC 35 – 2.5 GOOD+
SGC 45 – 3.5 VG+
SGC 55 – 4.5 VG/EX+
SGC 82 – 6.5 EX/NM+

may as well since they have 5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5

I also am not a huge fan of this...but after PSA doing it....you almost have no choice?!

The only way to fix this mess is for one company to have a monopoly...and grade/re-grade every card...period!!!!!

I've always said that if they are going to use a 100 point scale then make full use of it. Rate each of these five areas from 0-20

corner wear
centering
registration
gloss/surface
edges

I am not sure it would be financially feasible to resubmit on since the price difference would probably be close to grading fee.

first reaction, just like when psa did it...i don't like it. just adds to the confusion. half grades are more for the registry people. tpg is evolving in a really weird way to me.
