sabr 19th century conference was this weekend 4/20-4/21

I attended the sabr 19th century annual conference in cooperstown. Other than the folks who attended, I thought the highlights were: 1. Earlier this year, Charley Jones was found. He died in New York City. 2. Abner Graves letter to the Mills Commission may be incorrect in regards to baseball's origins, but evidence presented backed many of the factual statements contained in the letter. 3. Cartright was quite the self-promoter, but other members of the Gothams or Kinckerbockers may have been equally responsible for establishing the American game.

All in all, SABR has an interesting membership passionate about baseball.

Nothing much about baseball cards, but Preston Orem's name, an ACC author, came up for his early baseball by the newspaper accounts book.
