How was it ever determined that the Joe Doyle card is Joe and not Larry? The picture sure looks more like Larry than Joe.

Good question and good point! I'm sure one factor was that the pose appears to be a pitcher's windup - "Slow" Joe was a pitcher, whereas "Laffin" Larry was an infielder.
