well...
look at the frosting on the sides of the holder. Maybe someone replaced it...I could be wrong but PSA can't be that stupid and not see the trim.
Also, the card looks very small.

Sure they can. Isn't there a Mayo's out there that was graded despite having the advertising trimmed off?
Steve...
thats why i think the slab has been tampered with....its just too obvious.

The seller's lack of history with old cardboard is a bit of a red flag, but I'm guessing the slab is fine. A lot of holders have that frosty look straight from PSA.

From the seller -
Hi Gilbert,
I have attached a higher res scan. A number of people have asked about the bottom of the card. Clearly, the bottom of the card has been cut short and is missing the "Goodwin and Company" ad. The question is: Is it an original mis-cut from the factory or was it trimmed at a later date? At least 3 graders from PSA thought it was an original, mis-cut card or they would have body-bagged it. I don't think they would have missed the obvious "Goodwin and Company" ad. They looked at the edge and compared it to the other three and saw that they all had the same color and wear characteristics. The rest of the card would probably grade higher IMHO (the quality and contrast of the image are very nice for this set) and I think the overall grade was ratcheted down a notch or two because of the poor cut.
Regards,
Jim

I've also seen a scan of the trimmed Mayo that was graded by PSA. I think it is sitting in a "5" holder.
