What is your favorite Ty Cobb card?
What is your favorite Ty Cobb card?
Value aside, what is your favorite Cobb card? Vote and discuss.
If there are any glaring omissions, I can add to the list. I'll post my thoughts later on.

I like the E92 leaning on bat from that list.
But I think my favorite one is the E106 Facing Front. I love that card.

There are two Cobb poses in E106 so I'm assuming you're referring to the one that's shared by the e90-1 set:

Doesn't look like Cobb though...
Re: What is your favorite Ty Cobb card?
I'm partial to the T3 Turkey Red.
At a National several years ago I intended to purchase one for my collection. I went to a dealer who had one and asked if I could take a look at it.
I was twenty-one at the time, and I guess he didn't take me very seriously so he blew me off by saying, "You don't want to take a look at that."
So I moved to another dealer and bought something else.

That's the one. I believe it's also found in the T216 set.

I likem All, I might add any of the T202's with the Cobb slide in the Middle Panel or an M110. yeah thats the Ticket an M110. I think I'll have to live with my Red Portrait for awhile.
I would like to get me one of them there Green ones though.

Re: What is your favorite Ty Cobb card?
I chose the e92 leaning on bat pose as my favorite. I've wanted a e101 or e102 with this pose where the orange in the background is scribbled up like smoke rising behind Cobb.

I love this card....

As I said my times in the past, Cobb has some of the most boting and ugly cards. If his name wasn't attached to them, people would really care. The only cards of his that jump out to me as being special are the e95 and t227. The rest are a yamnfest.

Re: What is your favorite Ty Cobb card?
My top 3:
1. E92 leaning on bat
2. D304
3. E95
Surprised to see no votes for the T227 or any of the T206's yet.
Personally I think Cobb has a bunch of great looking cards since he was a huge star during the 1909-12 caramel/tobacco bonanza as well as the 1916-25 b&w caramel, W and M card years. He has a ton of cards, I'd guess more than any other prewar player?

Re: What is your favorite Ty Cobb card?
So far, I like the m110 best. But I'd like to check the PC805, E224, W-unc. Big Head, and perhaps a few others before voting.
I was hoping that the Novelty Cutelry Cobb was almost as good as the Wagner:

But it is not. So, Im sticking with the m110:

Until something better comes along.
Actually, I guess the Wolverine PC captures a better image of a realistic Cobb than this pretty m110 option does.

i kinda agree with jay that cobb has really no memorable card. his portrait shows a receding hairline
...and his action poses don't look as impressive as wagner because he's so thin and frail-looking. i do like wes' e300 plow alot!
