Non-acquisitions
The intent of this thread is to show cards which fail to meet a crucial selection criteria of yours, which others may consider a minor failing, but to you it made (or will make) the difference.

Re: Non-acquisitions
My first offering is a card currenntly up for bid:
I am actively seeking strip cards of Walter Johnson. And this card would be in my roundhouse if it wasn't so pristine. Yes, the right side cut is imperfect. But that is almost the only shortcoming of this card. The corners are not really rounded, there is virtually no signs of wear. This card "was not there" in my opinion. It was protected from the time it was cut from the strip. This is not my idea of an ideal example of one of these cards.
And particularly this one. This is an otherwise horrible "artistic" representation of Johnson. To have this in virtually unused condition would not meld with the rest of my collection.
Too bad, I sure could use this card in lower grade. Price is not an issue at all.
For comparison, the card below represents the highest grade which I find acceptable.

Re: Non-acquisitions
This is a card that would normally be one that I want, but becuase it has paper loss in the face, I won't be bidding on it.
