The Cooperstown chapter meets Saturday at the HOF Bullpen Theater at 1. The chapter leader has put together a nice program.

SABR Day is Saturday 1/26 Empty lame recap of great day

The chapter listened to a talk by Bruce Markusen, Baseball Card Mysteries, about who is the runner in Dick Green's 1974 Topps card. Turns out Dick Green is not on the card. See: http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/authors/bruce/

Also heard a talk by another HOF archivist, but a project done on his personal time. He examined whether, in Pride of the Yankees, right handed Gary Cooper acting as Lou Gehrig really batted left, or if the images were reversed. Indeed, all of Cooper's Yankees at bats were really left handed. But the Hartford ones were from his right side (and somewhere, there may be a "droftraH" jersey from the movie).

Then Jeff Katz led a member discussion regarding the enhancements used by players and whether these should matter in HOF voting or eventual HOF enshrinement.

All-in-all, awesome meeting with a huge turnout. From this SABR member, grateful the HOF & the National Baseball Library leadership & staff view SABR as outreach and support the chapter in an appropriate baseball setting.
