Biggest Personal Sales/Trade of 2011
We 're always showing off our latest conquests and acquisitions here...I always thought it'd be fun to have a monthly thread showcasing cards that we have sold...or traded away that no longer reside in our collections.
So where better a place to start than now...for the whole year.
I made a big decision to sell off a few of my rarest/most valuable T206 backed cards this year...breaking up a near complete back run I had been putting together for about 20 years. It was a tough decision...but what's done is done!!!
In 2011 I sold my M Brown Red Hindu, Abaddichio Lenox, Persons blank back...and ganzel BL 350...and eventually I plan to rid my collection of almost all of my t206's...exept maybe my green Cobby!
What have y'all gotten rid of this past year that you may or may not regret?!?!

Sold all my t205s except the Sovereign backs. Don't regret it as I am getting collection for focused with each sell off.

Candidate for bizarre trade of the year; Traded a 390 cubic inch engine out of a 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 XL 2-Door to a fellow gearhead for a 1919-21 w514 Joe Jackson (PSA 4). It was January and he did not want to schlep around a muddy, snow covered wrecking yard looking for what he needed. Great deal for both parties; I could never afford the price tag on the Joe Jackson, and got an engine out of my garage, he rebuilt the motor, and finished restoring his 1967 Ford Mustang GT. Beautiful black on black muscle car!

I traded a T213-1 Coupon - Matty in SGC 30 condition that I got back in 2000 via a Ron Oser Enterprises auction.

AS....that's awesome...trading an engine for old cardboard...I'm guessing both parties were very happy!

Really thought I got the better of the deal until I saw the finished Mustang. He had to put a lot of hours on that project but got it done in less than 18 months. A complete, ground-up, restoration with all the extras; GT hood with turn signals, GT map lamp and center console, TACH, GT Valances, Le Mans handling package, and fold down rear seat. Numbers don't match but the body is straight as an arrow, needs to be with that black paint highlighting any flaws. Both parties were VERY happy, but he gets to drive his baby.

There are a lot of great looking "clone" muscle cars out there.
This sounds like one as well.

Didn't exactly do a car for a card trade but the sale of my 1973 Datsun 240Z helped pay for my Thorpe card.

5+ years old, barely 40k miles, no rust, no damage, should be good but I plan on keep it for a long time. Can payments can be used to buy cards instead
Re: Biggest Personal Sales/Trade of 2011
I ended up selling off a few of my tougher back cards with the prices being as strong as they are. I also sold off many of my common back T206s. I still do have some tougher backs left but obviously lost the lust for having all the different backs.
Always have to sell something to continue my habit which has gotten richer over the years. It will be interesting to see what I am willing to part with in the future to continue my habit.

Re: Biggest Personal Sales/Trade of 2011
This year, I did a ton more selling than buying, so this thread resinates with me.
I sold all of my E103 HOFers and also sold all of my '33 Goudey HOFers (all SGC 80s).
