No friends at SGC and i am very lucky on my submissions. The Gore is a friends that i sent in for him.
Actually, I thought Kevin Saucier was a kid i grew up with...turns out he is not since the Kevin in CA (i believe) never lived in CT.
I thinking the Gore SGC 80 could get $1,300, although i am just guessing.

I like George Gore. I am impressed that along with Hamilton and Stovey he is recognized as one of the players to score more than one run per game (but others did too, and are excluded, overlooked or ...).
There are 15 Gore OJ poses, I believe.
SGC80s are certainly not common.
Lets hope the pose is not common too.

Congrats Mark, that's an awesome grade. I've seen 84's go for $1000-1400 based on image. I'd guess the Gore would go in the neighborhood of $600, since it's an 80, but could go for more since it's got a great image. Also, you can check the sgc pop reports, but if it's the highest graded, that would potentially add a premium. Good luck!

Thanks guys....speaking for my friend since it's his card.
SGC does not put label the pose but i believe there is only 1 higher in this pose. I see there are 5-6 different N172 cards of this player.
When it arrives next week i will post pics....my friend is looking to sell so it might be for the B/S/T area soon.

Mark: The statement " I see there is 5-6 different N172 cards of this player". Should be: "I see there are 5-6 different N172 cards of this player"
If you wish to make the transitive verb follow in its appropriate syntax.
However, if you wish your statement to have technical merit you may wish to consider the change to: "I see there are 5-6 different N172 cards of this player, comprising a total of 15 individually identified variations, numbered through the 196 range, and including multiple positional, and caption related variants."

Gore is not a scarce player. I would imagine that he would go for the regular range for an sgc80.

Yes, Gore is a common n172 subject. I've seen SGC 80 commons sell anywhere in the $600-$800 range depending on photo quality.
Re: N172 experts...Can
That sucks, since I believe my friend paid almost $1,000 for it raw. I keep telling him to let me know when he buys so i can give him a value on thing but he only calls me after he buys.

Prior sales
An SGC 86 with this pose sold for $1071 in a Sloate auction two years ago. I have to agree with the others, $1,000 does not seem too likely.

Probably your friend's seller deemed the card NM, only for SGC to grade it ex-mt. That speaks to the importance of TPG's, and not buying cards raw. It's a tough lesson for your friend, but we've all made our share of mistakes when it comes to collecting; I know I have.

My friend is the type of collector that jumps before they see where they are jumping from. He could have been talked into the card with high hopes of making good money. Tough lesson to learn but a lesson learned indeed.
