bbcard1 I don't see a pic
Does anyone have a copy of the scan of the Just So Young. Or for that matter, any of the other cards nominated? I'd like to get the vote rolling.

I'll let this thread run until the weekend and then kick off the voting.
Re: New round of Baseball Card HOF
Lee...what is that T3...is that cobb? It's kinda hard to tell as it's so decimated!

That's Lee's first attempt at faking a card. You see it on ebay shortly since he just found in the attic of grandparents home nailed to the wall.
Re: New round of Baseball Card HOF
Nice JAy...I think if I saw that card on ebay...I'd think it was a FAKE!!! Maybe a bath would help!!!

I just sort of picked what I thought were some good choices and whether they had scans up. I'll put a Ruth Goudey in the next round.

to me, those are the only two where I really can't understand a "no" vote.

Re: New round of Baseball Card HOF
Lee prolly voted no since he hates B&W cards and cards with players in civilian clothes
Re: New round of Baseball Card HOF
Those two (E107 Matty and the Just So Young) also got my yes vote. Love those two cards. Other then that I gave the 1951 Mantle a yes. Don't really care for the others.

Ok - guess I'll be the scapegoat :-) While I voted "yes" on the Just So Young, I voted "no" on the E107 Matty. I've just never been a fan of the card (or the Wagner in the set, either). Have I based my vote on any objective criterea... nope. Would I like to own the card, yes. But, do I like how it looks - nope. So, I voted "no."
Re: New round of Baseball Card HOF
I'd vote yes on the Just So Young, the card I covet more than any other ever printed.
I'm with Jon on the E107 Matty. I don't even think it looks that much like him--this is the Matty I always think of:
or this one:
That one (e107) almost looks like a younger, thinner Roger Clemens with slicked hair to me. For the same reasons, I don't like the m116 Matty that much either--both cards are definitely him, but just not how I picture him when he comes to mind.
BTW Jerry, while that's a beautiful Musial, I will nominate this one the next time around, as I think it oozes baseball--flannel, green dugout bat rack and Stan the Man.

Re: New round of Baseball Card HOF
So what percentage of "yes" do the nominated cards need in order to make it into the card HOF?

Re: New round of Baseball Card HOF
if the rare rookie card from one of the hobby's most important pioneer sets of one of the best pitchers ever to play the game can't get in... well, we may just need to rethink the criteria imo.
