the deathpool effect...RIP bob feller
i've been buying modern certified autograph cards lately (don't ask), and i've noticed feller cards have jumped about 25-30% last week because of news he's in hospice care. for some other scarce signature you can understand, but feller literally signed millions of stuff so it's not like there's going to be a shortage anytime soon. and if you didn't care enough to pick up an auto of the man before, what difference does it make now that he's on the news?

Even back in the 80s the running joke was that an unsigned Feller item was worth more than one that he had signed. The same sort of thing happend around 1991 or 1992 when both Killebrew and Musial ended up in the hospital with cancer. Prices on their autographs jumped thinking they were goign to die. Guess they were wrong.
