How have T3s been selling lately?
Any T3 collectors on here that can share a perspective on how the market has been lately?
I don't own a single one and I think that's something I need to try and change.
There's a T3 Cobb SGC 30 2 Good on eBay for $3500 BIN/BO. Is that anywhere near where they've been selling?
Another case of more cash than knowledge on my part.

I don't know much about T3s but I do know this much. If it is on ebay and it is listed as a Buy-It-Now, you're likely overpaying. For what it is worth to you, here are some results for SGC20 Cobb T3s from VCP:
4/16/09 Old Judge $2,860.00 Checklist Back
3/26/09 Mile High $2,016.30 Checklist Back
7/9/08 Huggins & Scott $2,300.00 Checklist Back
3/7/08 Hunt $2,070.00 Checklist Back

Wow. That's almost $700 more than the last reported sale you found for me.
I almost stepped in another pothole.
Thanks, Jeff.

SGC20 or SGC30 , here are last two SGC30 that sold- eye appeal really comes into play. The 30 that sold in Goodwin was missing a chunk on his nose should've been a 10.
5/2/10 REA $4,112.50 Checklist
11/20/09 Goodwin $2,442.82 Checklist Back

Good catch, I looked up 20's instead of 30's. May be priced in range depending on how it looks. And, not all BINs on ebay are overpriced, really depends on the seller but most are.

T3 are certainly down lately, it seems to be a great time to buy them. And for a Cobb, if it is nice I would think 2500-3000 would be a really good buy price.
edit to add- just saw the one on ebay and it is the one that sold in Goodwin with the chunk out of his nose, look at the bigger scan and you can see eye appeal on this one is ZERO

Since they are kinda pricey in mid grade, I have found the best way for me to be able to collect them is with some kinda small defect that doesn't effect the eye appeal. There so big and pretty that a small defect is not as significate as it is on a regular size card.
For example, I have less than 550.00 in these 2 hofers. Which is about what one of them would cost in graded VG condition. The walsh has eraser mark in lower border and collins has some minor stains. no paper loss on either.
Both suit me just fine.
Good Luck how ever you decide to pursue these beautiful cards.

Agreed
I picked up this Collins many years ago with one clipped corner for $50. I used it like this. I have some others either with a small pen mark on the checklist back or a tack hole that look great and were bought for greatly reduced rates.

I'd wager that custom framing and matting cost more than everything in the frame. We're in the wrong industry.

Thanks for offering to make the connection, Gregg Jefferies. But, I'm kind of anal retentive in the way I collect and really was looking for a SGC 30. Maybe I should turn my attention to a CJ Cobb.

Re: How have T3s been selling lately?
Legendary auction closed last night with a big bunch of T3s in it (Lots 55-123). I just scanned through them today. Seems to me the prices were generally pretty soft (but I stand to be corrected by someone who closely tracks these prices).
Here's the link to the completed auctions: http://www.legendaryauctions.com/AuctionResults.aspx?auctionid=70&ClosedSessionsOnly=1

T3 cards have taken a big hit i the last year....good time to buy commons since these prices are a product of horrible economy and collectors taking a step back on buying....
