What card would you buy?
For me it would be a 1912 Garter or maybe a nice D304 Cobb. It's fun to dream

Even thought I don't want it for my t205, if I had that amount of money to burn I'd get the no stats Hoblitzell.

For me it'd be a significant 19th c card like an anson or kelly cabinet...or something like that!

Delahanty Duke Cabinet, if 10K would buy it

Definitely an OJ/Gypsy Queen HOFer in the best grade I could get for the money.

I'm with you guys on the 19th century HOFers. Jerry, you could probably score a low grade Duke Delahanty for under 10k. I owned one myself about 6-7 years ago, and it cost me just under half that amount! It had a spot of paper loss on the background but Delahanty's image was undisturbed.
As for the Hobby no stats....I realize how tough a card it is, but could never bring myself to spend that kind of dough on a card that would be worth $30 if it weren't for a few missing lines of text on the back. Different strokes I guess.

The only reason I go for that card is because it is a set I'm working on and for the reasons you stated, I won't spend the money for it. Same goes for the Matty Cycle back. That is stupidity in this hobby at its best. But I've got $10k free money I could get both of those cards.

I would probably buy a 1914 crackerajack Matty, it's been one of my favorite cards for years, I love the pose! After that, I would go with a very clean crackerjack Ty Cobb because it's such a beautiful card.

Doesn't get much better than a clean CJ Cobb or Jackson. Nice choices. And don't get me started on the garters

Jeff- is Baker in the 1912 set?

Jeff probably meant 1913 BG because Baker was left out of the 1912 set.

I've always liked the "diamond cut" '14s myself.

Hmm. Is there an E107 Waddell with a numerical grade for $10,000 or less? If so, I think I'd buy that.

You mean like this one?
(since I don't get the opportunity to show it very often)

I'd probably try to pick up an E107 Bender
