Re: 1933 Delong Lou Gehrig
Great advice from Ben there. In general, for prewar and postwar vintage, you are safest with SGC or PSA graded cards.
Until you know what you are doing, stay away from anything that is not in an SGC or PSA slab. Beckett's vintage arm (BVG) also carries some credibility, but anything other than that I wouldn't touch.
It's like in poker, if you are looking around the table and you can't figure out who the sucker is... it's you. That is not a slam on noobies, but rather an illustration to let you know that there is a 99.99% chance that any perceived great deal or find in a shoebox in the attic that used to belong to my grandpa... or some such story is complete garbage. Stick with the advice you've been given here. It is solid.
Buy cheap versions of graded cards in PSA or SGC holders and learn about them before trying to venture into anything raw. You'll me money ahead and chances are, you'll be warning others to do the same thing in a year or so.

Should I start another post for all of my inquires?

Also my friend did go to that auction today and he 'overheard' a guy telling another person that all of the BRGS graded cards looked VERY fake. Of that entire list only 1 card went for over $100.

I would stay away from auctionzip too. Those all look fake to me. The scan/pic looks horrible, and usually when you see something that bad, there's a very good indicator that the seller is trying to hide something. Run for the hills on that lot.
