Looking for 1933 Delong PSA 1's
Hey FCV. I am new to this forum, but not to collecting. I am working on a 1933 Delong PSA 1 set. I currently have 14 of the 24, but need the Gehrig and Foxx. I'd love to get these last 10 cards out of the way, so let me know what you have and hopefully we can get some sales done! Scans would be appreciated.
My only rules are no paper loss, major staining, holes, or ink marks. Let's see what you've got!
You can also email me at jrlebert at gmail dot com. Thanks!

Once I upgrade my Foxx I think I have the card that will fill your need.

Re: Looking for 1933 Delong PSA 1's
Actually, I think I would be looking for a little "nicer" PSA 1. I'll post some scans of the 14 when I get a chance!
Re: Looking for 1933 Delong PSA 1's
In order to get some "nicer" eye appeal, the easiest way is to go with something that has a pinhole in it or a small amount of paper loss on its back. Ruling out those two keeps some low technical grade, but nicer eye appeal ones out of a collectin. I've seen some really nice looking "1"s that had one of those technical flaws. To each his own, but without small holes, staining, or paper loss, they are most likely going to have substantial creases... and thereby have less eye appeal.

well, I think that the 14 I have have some nice eye appeal, but yes, creases are the main flaw. I am OK with that.
Re: Looking for 1933 Delong PSA 1's
Please understand that I am not trying to slam your collection or your opinion of nice eye appeal... just trying to point out that three of the main causes of a "1" grade are holes, paper loss, and creases. You specifically eliminated paper loss and holes (which is fine, by the way), but that leaves pretty heavily creased cards (assuming they are appropriately graded). I certainly know that not all "1"s are created equal. Many make you say, "That only got a 1????" Normally, those are the cards that have pinholes or minor back side paper loss.
All that to say this... it looked to me like Jay posted what would be an ideal candidate for such a collection. I guess your blowing it off as not being nice enough just has me puzzled. Maybe I just haven't seen enough creased "1"s without paper loss or pinholes that have better eye appeal than that. I'd love to see your other Delongs to show me what you mean.

no no! I didn't mean to blow it off as not nice enough, nor did I ever think that anyone was slamming my collection. believe me, to find some of the ones that are in my collection have been a pain in my butt for sure. I'll get some scans up so you can see what I have, but please understand that I am open to anyone and everyone's comments and critiques.
thanks!
thanks!

Very nice looking cards. Sometimes its hard to tell the severity of creasing from scans, but those present very nicely for the grade. At first glance, it wouldn't surprise me to see many of those graded higher.

It's a very nice, consistent looking set. How back damage is there because some of those cards, based on the front, don't warrant a 1. The fronts of your cards are just what I like, but I am a stickler about the back because there is text and I won't accept paper loss in the text area.

those are pretty nice 1s

that's the nice part about the backs! absolutely no paper loss or staining, with the exception of one card, which I didn't see until just recently. they are some of the nicest 1's I've seen.
thanks for the feedback!
