What's the lowest grade you'll accept for your collection?
Lowest acceptable grade for cards in your collection?
What's the lowest acceptable condition for cards in your collection?
Personally, if it's a tough card to find, I'm usually ok with cards in poor shape, beaters, even trimmed cards. But if it's readily available in better shape and isn't cost prohibitive, then I'll wait for something better. I've owned some real dogs though, believe me.

The only thing that is a killer for me is heavy creasing in the face or paper loss on the back if there is bio info. Otherwise, I'll just fill holes and worry about upgrading later.

I voted auth/beater but to me it really depends on the set, issues like rare back M101-4/5, 1933 exhibits, etc I am just happy to have a card in any condition, where sets like 1947-66 exhibits I am looking for EX or above, E93, T207 I looking for Vg and above and so on. Guess I am just a condition varied collector.
That said I really think my sweet spot is VG, if given the chance and I have the funds I would upgrade any of my Auth-Good cards to that condition.

I agree with what Scott said. VG is definitely where I buy most frequently but as scarcity and real rarity becomes an issue you can't be too picky. As a Boston National collector when certain cards come along you take what you can get.
For me it all comes down to my personal eye appeal. I can handle paper loss, creases, writing, off center, etc, but it depends on how each of those effect the particular card. I have had PSA 4's that I have sold because I just couldn't get past a flaw and SGC A's that I hope to never sell.
