April Pickups
I was able to land a postcard last night in Lew Lipsets auction:

I have always LOVED this card. Frank Chance in a dapper suit, and a comely young lass in the background who looks eager to throw herself at him. The Peerless Leader exudes a great deal of confidence in his new Royal Tailored Suit - ladies beware!

Re: April Pickups
Nice score Chris! I concur with your interpretation of the scene - Chance is big pimpin' on that PC. I know we've both coveted that PC in the past. Glad to see that you pulled the trigger on this one! It's a toughie.
Re: April Pickups
Very reminiscent of the Boston Garters but without the baseball scene in the background

I thought the exact same thing (regarding similarity to B.G.) when I first saw it. Congrats on a great pickup!

I've always loved that Chance postcard (just wish it was a set with more players just like it!), great pickup!

eric,
very cool that you've abandoned that silly home improvement plan and back to buying cards.

Eric, 34 T216's is impressive. Like others have said, they're great cards to hunt for because they're just tough enough to find without being impossible. It's fun watching you assemble your hoard!

brian--it's viva bianca, she's an actress in the series Spartacus currently running on Starz (so lots of blood/gore/nudity for the adults). she's pictured as her character Illythia....great show i'm hooked.terjung wrote:Who is that a picture of, Quan?

Brian, are you saying that because of the elephant? The elephant was the mascot of the A's.
Peter, you need an e104-1 Mack now.

Yeah, I was trying (a little too hard) to be humorous.

Fair enough. If and when I find some to add to my collection, I'll do my best to share them here.
With that said, if anyone is looking for some extra cash for REA and has an E107 HOFer, I'd probably be interested in it.

lee...we all have our dreams.
looking at all the nice t cards in the photo thread got me itchy. i'd sold most of my t hofs to fund the speaker from yawie. have been underbidding on the johnsons for awhile but was able to secure this sgc 30 (made him an offer higher than the last 30 sold for but after all the cbs i would've paid the same amt). this one looks fairly clean (gold sticker back grady era) besides the little front rub.
