Are there any signed Turkey Red's?
Anyone seen any or know of any? I seem to remember seeing one in the Halper collection way back but I may be remembering wrong. Seems to me it was a Lajoie. Just wondering.

I have following ebay since 2000 and don't remember any being listing. Although I do not specifically look for autographs. With all the different items that have came through signed you would think that the Turkey red's would have been a popular item to get signed.

Yeah especially since at least 2 guys were alive into the 70's, you'd think someone would have gotten at least 1 signed.

Who were the last 2 alive, that is interesting. Are they different then the last ones alive in the T206 set?
For the sake of not hijacking the thread I will start a new one about this.

I'm guessing that its Nap Rucker and Larry Doyle, but thats just a guess. There could be other guys who lived into the 70's and past when Doyle died in 1974.
I think I'm going to make it my unofficial goal in life to get a signed original TR. It was between that and increased world crop productivity. Bigger corn doesnt get the women like a signed Turkey Red would I'm afraid.

While some of these have been traded off and/or sold, here are the signed caramel/tobacco cards I used to/still own:

Nice looking cards!
I got an email reply from the guy who runs t206collector saying that Walter Johnsons son told him he had seen one in Cooperstown. Maybe thats the one I remember seeing from the Halper collection, but I still think it was a Lajoie. I guess I'll be able to tell for sure when I own it.
