Bregstone PC on ebay - stolen scan?
There is a very rare Bregstone PC for sale on ebay - problem is, the scan appears to have been lifted from another site:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220413076165&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching
and the site the card was lifted from:
http://www.vintageball.com/files/Bregstone_McGlynn2.jpg
Buyer beware!

Those might actually be different scans.
The one on ebay looks like it has clipped corners and there is a vertical line that runs down the card on the front and back.
The one on the website is cleaner and has better corners.

Re: Bregstone PC on ebay - stolen scan?
Good eye Chris, I also think they're probably the same card, the ebay one being a manipulated scan/printout of the original on the vintageball site. The ebay one does have clipped corners, but that can easily be done after the fact. A scammer would probably want to create some condition differences anyway, so that their creation doesn't resemble the original too closely. But the fading/wear around the bottom of the two PC's is a match. Also, the ebay version has the grainy look of a fake. The images on the Bregstones I've seen in the past are crystal clear.
Here are the two scans side by side (the original is on the left). Bregstone PC's are awesome by the way, anyone have scans of others to share?

I have to say they are different. The corner wear on all the corners is different. Cool item though.

Hey Lee, don't you think it would be easy enough for a scammer to clip the corners, so that he covers his tracks by making it look different from the source image?
As I said, the ebay one is far too grainy looking to be original in my opinion. And the other similarities between the two cards, in addition to the fact that there aren't more than a handful of each Bregstone subject out there, leads me to believe that the ebay PC is a doctored copy of the original on vintageball.

Looking at the fading in the black bottom there appears to be to many in consistencies. If this is photo shopped they appear to have done alot of work on it. Has anyone asked for another scan?

"If legit, this is a VERY rare card, but I can't say for sure if it is. "
"What you see is what you get with this one."
I would love to have a Bregstone, but those two lines, taken from the seller description, tell me it is a stolen/doctored scan or a fake of some sort.
Odd card to choose to make up, but I don't think it is real.

Check the left side by the printers mark in the black that really looked different.

Still at the $7.77 opening bid with only a single bidder, and it ends tonight. I don't think many are fooled by this fake.
Like Chris said, these two quotes from the auction description are dead giveaways:
