This card is very clean looks like an SGC 80. The grader must’ve been blind’ to only give a 50.
Thinking resubmission, any input would be great!

Every time I look at this card, I always think it is undergraded, but I guess it is due to SGC being so stringent on paper loss.
It just seems so odd to me that this card get the same grade as a beater, but also defines why eye appeal is so much more important than a technical grade (at least in E107s).

Brian,
I think eye appeal is more important to the collector than the technical grade to the grader.
Just had to use that smiley.

That's alright, Lee. Sometimes a good slap in the face is what I need when I am contemplating buying "another old cardboard picture of a dead guy" (as my lovely wife likes to put it).
I do agree that we analyze and scrutinize these cards far more than the graders do. It is cards like these though that have pushed me well along the "don't care what number the grade says" path as long as I like the card.

Brian,
Talk to SGC about it, I bet you could get the card into a 20 holder. I'd bring it to the National for review if it were me.

That's what I was thinking too, Brian. PSA 2/SGC 30. Doesn't really matter to me though.
Successfully Upgraded!!!
I'm happy to announce the card was accurately graded a PSA 5, upgraded from an SGC 4. The card was cracked out and submitted RAW! I think the card looks as strong encapsulated by PSA if not better
I'd like to thank Mark Turner for his generosity with the PSA submittion

I think this T216 Gibson is undergraded. It is blazing for a 4. One of the best I've ever seen.
