1933 George C Miller Foxx variation?
While serarching for 1933 George C Miller Foxx in VCP, I saw they have an error listed for the Foxx card. What is the error? How tough/rare is it compared to the non-error?

The error version of the card listed him as Jimmie Fox (instead of Foxx). I do not know how prevalent the error card is as I have never seen one. Given that VCP doesn't list any sales is a decent indication of rarity, though.
A similar error in the spelling of Chuck Klein's last name was also printed (as Klien) and later fixed.

George Millers
The way it has been explained to me is that there are two types of George Millers, Type 1 and Type 2. The Type 1s (see Gehringer) have bolder color and the misspellings of Foxx/Klein on the back. The Types 2s (see Foxx) are more washed out and have the corrected spellings. I think that each of the cards in the set have a T1/T2 version so essentially there is an "error" or Type 1 version of them all. The error if you want to call it that is simply the two misspellings on the back of each Type 1.

Thanks guys. Seeing that there are no names on the front, is it correct to assume the variations are all on the back (other than color shadings on the front)?

Yes - the textual variations are all on the back. I don't think the fact that VCP has no recorded sales is indicative of anything other then the person entering the data hasn't been making the distinction. I have not seen a premium applied to either type 1 or type 2 of the backs and they are both out there.

Yes there are 2 types of each card except the Andrews card. I have never seen a type II Andrews yet. I am 3 cards away from completing the only known type II uncanceled set. You can also see the difference in the spelling of Klein and Klien on the backs. Dan.

I forgot to mention that Mr. Gerry Glasser wrote an in depth article in VCBC years ago on the GC Millers. It is a must read. Mr. Glasser is one of the premier 1930s baseball card experts.
