1969 Topps Mantle #500
Hi. I just aquired this card today from an eBay auction. It seems to have all the qualities of and original except when held up to the light. I can see the rear stats of the card through the front. Is this normal? I have several from the same year but can't see through the card.

This is a great and important card.
It shows Mantle's '68 season in which he got his final 18 HRs to pass Foxx, and move into third place on the all time HR list. - if I have this figured accurately - Behind only Ruth and Mays.
Mantle's last card. Way more valuable to my thinking than any of his "firsts".
I am an anti-slab guy. But this one is a keeper. Slab it + be sure.
I got to get me one of these.

I don't collect 60's cards, but it does seem unusual that you can see the stats through the front. Someone with more experience in this area will likely give you a more informed opinion than mine, but I can see why you'd be skeptical.
Any chance you could post a scan of the card?

Hi again. I wanted to thank you for the responses on this matter and to let you all know that I contacted the ebay seller and asked him to accept the card back and to issue a refund. The card went out today and hopefully he will do his part. He has 100% positive feedback with 467 transactions under his belt. It was also stated in the auction that the cards authenticity was verified by a reputable card dealer.... Whatever.
Thanks again,
