Hey Gil, I like the idea of a monthy forum-wide chat. "General hobby related discussion" for everyone, as well as orientation for new members. Possibly on the first Sunday evening of each month?

We have a nice chatroom at the bottom of the forum, we should use it once in a while.

What does everyone else think?

FWIW, I would enjoy that.

i think it would be nice. Sunday late afternoon would be ok for me since that's when its mostly quiet at my house.

How do you get in, how do you enter comments, is there a chat help function, more.

I would like to propose 7 PM EST as a starting point unless there is a large west coast contingent. I'm not sure what time zone the majority of members are in. I personally am in the eastern time zone.

That sounds good to me. Not 100% sure I'll be available this weekend, but I was thinking we might give the the forum wide chat a trial run this Sunday evening.

It's fairly basic. Anyone who can post on the forum shouldn't have any trouble with the chatroom.

To enter the chat, scroll down to the bottom of the forum and click "log in". One quick tip - if you click on "join the chat" instead of "log in", you open up a full screen chat window instead of the tiny box that you usually see on the forum homepage.

Also, the chatroom is visible/accessible only to members who are logged in on the forum.

I'll try to be there this weekend too.

Sometimes it takes many attempts. Look at me. I've had over 800 tries, and they still let me attempt to say something useful. I will, I'm almost in the groove.

Sorry Brian, I had a very busy weekend and wasn't able to make it this time.

We should schedule one for sometime during the holidays when many of us will have free time.
