Card pricing help.
Not sure if any members are part of those card pricing sites and not sure how detailed they are, but I was looking for some help. I am going to try to get a T206 Black Cap Chase, VGEX or so, with a Carolina Brights back. Can anyone help me with a value? I have been looking for Carolina Brights, but can't find much in the way of sales history, and they are never on ebay. I am willing to over pay, as this has been a very difficult one for me, but would like to know what overpaying is. I am thankfull for any kind of help on this one.
Take care,
Bob

I paid $375 for my t206 mcginnity sgc 50 w/ carolina brights back 2 or 3 years ago. I can't imagine the price would be that disimilar today except possibly due to eye appeal.

I don't subscribe to any of the card pricing websites, but Pete's $375 estimate sounds about right. His Mcginnity might get a bit of a bump because of his HOFer status.
Given how the market has flattened over the past year, you might get lucky and snag a vgex Chase w/CB back for $275-325, which would be a bargain imo. Total guess on my part though.
I'm sure others will chip in with more helpful responses than mine.

Hey Bob,
There has only been one offered up for sale on ebay or any auction house since 2006. That one sold on ebay on 6/18/06 and it was a PSA 4. Sold for $275. I would think today it would sell in the $500 range, possibly more.

Thanks for the info
I don't know if I can talk the owner into selling, but it would be a huge card for me. I had to get a Sov460 Chase Trophy, so I have a Sov460 black hat to burn now and need a black cap of a different back to replace it. Hopefully in the Carolina spot!
Has anyone ever seen a Eddie Collins Carolina Brights?

Yes the Eddie Collins w/Carolina Brights back does exist.
The same PSA 3 sold twice in 2007:
6/29/07 (Sloate Auctions) $496
8/21/07 (ebay) $519.89
It is the only Collins that has been listed for sale in the last 2 years graded by any company.

Love the new avatar Lee. Did you assemble that yourself? Very creative.
ps. I think Carolina Brights is the coolest t206 back.
