t206: what is a better investment option?
Choice one = the 520 or so main set cards
Choice two = Wagner
Choice three = the "big 4" (or however many they are)?
Choice four = other
Forget collecting, this inquiry is investment only.

Wagner, they seem to just never go down in price.

The base set is gong to give you the best return because it's easier for $100 cards to make a 10% increase than it is for a $10,000 card. THe Big 4 would be the next best. With only 4 high demand cards, it's much more liquid than trying to move 520 cards.

I picked "other". My "other" is any T206 with a BL 460 back. With these being from the Monster and rarer than a Wagner (less than 60 known, compared around 70 Wagners), these are a bargain currently. I could actually see these becoming five figure cards in a few years - after the 100 year anniv., when more people start collecting the T206 set and finding out about the backs and the rarity of the BL 460's. Plus, unlike the very few backs that are rarer, the BL 460 are legitimate back variations - not an error (like the Old Mill Overprints) or a slight color variation (like the Old Mill and Lenox Brown print examples). So, to have a "complete" T206 back collection, one must have a BL 460!
Even if these only start selling for half of what I predict in a few years ($5k instead of $10k), that will still be double their current value (around $2500 for a low-grade common, IF you can find one).
Again, I will buy any low grade example not altered and without paperloss on the back for $2500 (or $3k or more for a Hall of Famer)!

I voted for the other, because I feel that the backs from AB/Cycle will continue to rise in price because an average collector still has a chance of obtaining these cards and yet they are still scarce.
