A guy could have an entire career in less than a twenty year

period such as that bordered by Old Judge and t206, and Hugh Duffy did.
Back on February 27th Barry Sloate sold a t206 SGC60 Duffy on eBay for $278. This week Duffy cards from other sets closed on eBay:

n172 SGC30 = $383
N300 Mayo SGC10 = $445
WG3 Fan Craze PSA5 $99

Some notes about these include that n172 is probably his rookie card, and t206 is a card issued after his career (which ended in 1906). It seems to me that the Fan Craze card is a tremendous bargain in this comparison. What are your thoughts?

Completely agree. Fan Crazes are tremendous bargains and a great way to acquire an early card of a vast array of deadball era HOFers.

If I collected them, I'd go after them in mid grades like that Duffy, Gil. No point in paying a premium for a high grade card when they are so easily found in that condition (due to factory rounded corners and the way they were originally packaged).

The National Copperplate (not Sporting News Supplement) is now looking for a $70. opening bid. I bet there is a e107 as well.
Duffy would be a good focus for an early type accumulation.

i would say that both PCs and Game cards are relatively solid bargains
