Drop-offs
It occurred to me, with all the pick-ups that we have on this board, why not have a thread where you post the cards that you've recently sold? I know it makes no sense, but nevertheless I find it interesting.
Here is a recent "drop-off" :
I bought this card from b-l auctions eighteen months ago; it was from the personal collection of Leon Luckey. After submitting it to Bill Goodwin, we decided to crack the SGC 20 case and submit it to PSA instead. It seemed to make a slight difference in the price, as I bought it for $1100 and it sold for $1700.
Final verdict: +$320 after BP.
Thank you, Leon!

Re: Drop-offs
nice...I agree...I've always thought it'd be cool to post comings and goings as well! Nice return for a year...I can't see what card it was here at work...or what grade it achieved. Question is...did u get paid in a timely manner?

It just got sold last night, so I should probably allow Bill more than nine hours to send the check.

Re: Drop-offs
If we did have a regular thread like this I would have clogged it up over the past few months considering I've sold off a large portion of my collection.

Re: Drop-offs
J--maybe hold off until check is in hand. guy who won the card could see this thread, not pay and contact you later to renegotiate. maybe i'm being overly paranoid?

The problem with defaulting is that you get blacklisted by a lot of the auction houses. Anyways, it is a very nice card and hopefully the winner will do the right thing and pay. All the OJ's last night landed strong prices, and most collectors know that a PSA 6MK equals an SGC 20, I just think it presents better as a PSA 6MK.

Re: Drop-offs
I would find a thread like this fascinating. I'm only a buyer and not a seller (for now), but I'm sure every once in awhile I'll see a T206 that I've recently acquired!

Re: Drop-offs
Pete, there are still 10 cards in The Gang of Ten. Buying one gets me to 11 so I sell one and it takes back down to 10.

Re: Drop-offs
Just sold/traded my w514 Babe Ruth for a w519 Ruth. Also unloaded my Ad Luque, Max Carey, John McGraw, Rabbit Maranville (Braves), Pep Young (rookie) and 7 common w514s in the same deal. Gonna miss those cards!
Adopting Jays' Gang of Ten idea, but modifying it (I could never have the discipline to only have 10 cards). Maybe 10 baseball only strip card sets. So I'm getting rid of my w514's (about 80 total) and trading/selling them for cards in the w519 unnumbered set, and will use the remaining $$ to self-publish the Claxton book. Should be back from the editor in a couple weeks. It's going to be a busy summer!
