Anyone know if the type 1 or type 2 Nielsen's are tougher? Recent experience tells me that there are fewer type 1 with Old English tpye but they have been selling for much less than type 2s.

I'm hardly an expert, but I agree-- I see far more type 2s than type 1s--just won one tonight actually. The SCD big book has the type 2s at almost twice the value but again, I see these more frequently than the cooler type 1s.

I can't figure these out--they are all over the board on pricing. I was only interested in the Hauser--a Minnesota thing, so I don't know the nuances like possible short prints or whatever. Still look at these prices from VCP for SGC 60s on this set:
102 1/25/08 Sloate Sisler $548.55
107 12/9/07 eBay Toporcer $99.99
89 11/25/07 eBay Robertson $154.50
26 11/25/07 eBay Daubert $147.50
20 11/25/07 eBay Cole $99.99
91 11/4/07 eBay Roush $351.00
18 10/22/06 eBay Clemons $64.00
14 8/26/06 eBay Callaghan $70.00
2 12/27/05 eBay Aldridge $83.00
23 11/10/05 Goodwin Cooper $344.06

And even the Vg-ex 50s do all right:
108 12/30/07 eBay Uhle $62.00
9 11/25/07 eBay Bohne $87.00
102 4/26/07 eBay Sisler $282.89
41 10/22/06 eBay Griffith $38.77
90 2/24/06 Goodwin Rommel $117.50
96 2/24/06 Goodwin Severeid $228.96
109 2/24/06 Goodwin Veach $142.18
111 2/24/06 Goodwin Wambsganss $117.50
6 11/10/05 Goodwin Bigbee $235.00
25 11/10/05 Goodwin Danforth $235.00
29 11/10/05 Goodwin DeBerry $213.26
104 11/10/05 Goodwin Snyder $235.00

Hauser doesn't have many cards as a major leaguer. He's usually depicted as a Minneapolis Miller. I used to have a little mini collection of his stuff. I had all the team photos of the Millers from 1936-1960 along with a few programs with him on the cover.

I might be interested if you have any Hauser stuff to sell. Counting the Nielsens, I have 4 cards, including a Wheaties that i posted in the Gallery, a '28 Exhibit and a W572 (which I thought you had--they're on ebay every now and then). I also have a '33 Wheaties Minn Millers team "yearbook" with a page on Unser Choe.

These seem consistent in pricing with the following notations:
- Goodwin draws 3x the price of ebay
- ex is 1.7x the price of vg/ex (but not Sisler)

Sadly, I have none of my Millers stuff left. That was all sold when I got out in 1992. I still need a Hauser card for player set. I wouldn't mind his w572 since I have a fair number of cards from that set.

Type I's are definitely rarer from my experience. I would say this set is like the Cracker Jack sets were a few years back - more people collecting the 1915's, thus they were selling for me at one time than the much tougher 1914's. Again, there are probably some people working on sets for the Type II's - competing with each other - creating higher prices than the Type I's.
