Chocolate cards Empty Chocolate cards

Post by arandy Sat Sep 20, 2008 12:10 am

I know there are a lot of foreign chocolate sets but were there any sets made in America? The only one I can think of is Darby Chocolates. Are there any else?

Judging by the lack of response, I guess the answer is "no". All the chocolate issues that I can recall (besides Darby) are Canadian and Cuban. scratch

Good question. All I can think of are Butterfinger premiums for a chocolate covered candy bar (not quite "chocolates"). However, I don't know what some products were - doubt they were chocolates - does anyone know? What were Home Run Kisses? Or Big Eaters? What type of candy were in the J=K, Schapira, Orange Border, or All Star Baseball boxes? What is Star Player Candy?

I guess you could include Croft's Cocoa also. To revise the question, what sets included chocolate advertisements on some of their cards?

Wasn't there a George Close candy box found a few years ago? Not sure what types of candy they sold.

Jay - I know a Nadja box was found (which were indeed caramels) but I don't remember a Close box being found. I do have some Dockman''s but all seem to be hard candy.

Wow, those are some nice containers. What year were those manufactured?
