Fantastic card Chris, glad it has found a good home in your collection. Your 19th century stuff kicks some serious ass.

Congrats, it appears that an n172 Delehanty in ex or better is an easy card as everybody here seems to have one.

Great job Blair, you made quick work of the set! What are the four remaining cards you're needing? Maybe someone here can help you out.

Thanks, Ben! It definitely helped that REA got an original E-card collection consigned in 2010 that had a bunch of Dockmans in it. I bought some of those direct from REA, and some more from another lot winner who sold off some pieces.
I still need: Bridwell, Schaefer, Boss Smith (the yellow background one), and...one biggie...Wagner batting.
Looking for these preferably in PSA 3-4 (or SGC 40-50). For the commons, I'd rather have VG-EX cards than VG cards.

Congrats on the great pickups Chris & Blair. Nothing Pre-war for me yet, but a busy June/July nonetheless.

Re: July 2011 Pickups
I mentioned in my introduction post that I was working on getting the Cardinals from the T205 set. Here's what Ive got so far.
Frank Corridon was my first card in this set, and I was so excited about getting this card, I wrote an article about it for Cardboard Connection.
http://www.cardboardconnection.com/frank-corridon-spitball-pitcher-and-history-teacher
According to T205.org there are twelve Cardinals cards in the set, two of which are variation cards that I probably won't try to chase down. That leaves ten cards, six of which I now have. Of the remaining four cards, two of them are HoF'ers so they're a little more pricy compared to the cards I've got so far, but not a fraction of the price for something from the 19th century. Anyway, I'll be sure to post scans of the cards as I try to finish this team set.

PS Thanks for reading. When I see collectors posting scans of cards from the 19th century, I feel like a rookie who just got called up to the majors!

It looks like someone gave Corridon a black eye. Nice start T205's are such a beautiful set.

Night of the Living Commons

These are not particularly notable aside from their affordability. For those contemplating the leap into The Monster, I can observe that even just over the last four months there has been a downward slide in what one has to pay to acquire decently graded commons in this set. And I haven't exactly been paying through the nose for Southern Leaguers, either, although I've been willing to accept low grades without uncommon backs. Anyway, just saying: Might be a good time to jump into the T206 pool. You only have to swim 514 laps!

That's a Hindu Gabby Street. Not the back - he's actually wearing a Third Eye.
